Meet Tyler

In 2007 Tyler was diagnosed with Classic Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder.   Tyler was non verbal and not potty-trained (took 4 1/2 years to potty-train. He was about 8 1/2 – almost 9 when completed) and 0 independence.  I was told he would not talk and was on the low to mid section on the spectrum.   Tyler has been and still is in life skills classes at school, but his individual progress has been amazing, through dietary changes, supplement intake, therapies, teachers, paras and hard work.

Some of the common AU traits that Tyler has:  Severe sensory processing disorder, Echolalia, Cognitive delay, Verbal Processing Delay , Anxiety, Impulsive Behavior

Tyler lives at home with me, his mom and his older sister comes by frequently (they have a special bond)

As of the beginning of this blog (2017) Tyler is about an 3rd grade level in academics.  About a 5 year old in social and emotional development.   For now, Tyler will remain in life skills in high school.
