I am a mom of two amazing children, a 14 year old on the spectrum and a 25 year old not on the spectrum. I like to share about my autism journey and my personal journey. I am a realist and speak what I feel are truths about the reality of our lives, both good and bad. I love to share the accomplishments!
My son was not diagnosed until age 5 (classic autism and spd) and 3 years into the journey, I wrote a very short e-book back in 2012: https://www.amazon.com/Walking-Rainbows-Encouragement-Touched-Autism-ebook/dp/B007MUI4QS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481370487&sr=8-1&keywords=Walking+on+Rainbows
That journey has grown and progress has been made in ways I never dreamed was possible and was told would never be possible. I have tried to the best of my financial ability to attempt to manage autism holistically (diet, supplements and essential oils). We did have a few years of prescription medication, but that has changed as of today, and for now (and hopefully for the future.)
I have also struggled with some health issues as at result of aging, but have managed to pull myself around, because my son needs me here now and in the future. I have jumped on the pure essential oil and high quality supplement train for myself (after several years of lower grade products) and also with diet. I intend to share what has worked for me. I have an oiler facebook page where I share things about EO’s: https://www.facebook.com/Cathys-Oily-Life-Young-Living-Essential-Oils-546297038871363/
I support and talk about clean eating and paleo ways of eating and also the keto way of eating. For my son it’s cleaner and paleo way of eating (but he does venture off this way of eating) and for me I’ve recently been keto and I am enjoying the way I feel.
I have read numerous books and pages on autism and caregiver journeys, to find things similar to my life and I have leaped into our own journey. Being that the spectrum is so broad, I share my shoulder as if there is one thing that might be similar or can help, then it’s all worth it.
